* When converted to .stp and opened in Freecad or Sketchup, part numbers are lost. We’ll need to see if there is a setting for this or a property in SolidWorks that we can change to make this translate properly. Otherwise a drawing with BOM will need to be created in SolidWorks and then exported.
* x axis shoulder screw with spring being used to tension motor mount to gantry not modelled. Could not find part and looks like a better design could be made.
* Tool mount not modeled, will require significant modification to accommodate plasma, router and height sensing equipment.
* Some of the geometry in the motor mount is not required and could be simplified for fabrication.
* Some of the threaded fasteners on the motor mount could be replaced with bolt assy’s to avoid tapping holes.
* 2” driveshaft does not reach the gear to the rack in the model. On the existing table, the gear is offset off the end of the driveshaft. longer driveshaft should be used.
* The gear that engages the rack in the model is space claim only. Could not find an off the shelf component to match. As we have discussed going to a 1/2” rack instead of the existing 1/4” in the future, an off the shelf 1/2” gear to match can be found from McMaster Carr.
* The models for the reducing belt pulleys were generated through the product configurator off of Misumi.com. They did not come out accurate to what was input. I’ve modified the model for fit/form/function, but source of supply should be verified.
* Model does not have any of the base structure as that has already been modelled in Sketchup and is subject to change. Once the drive control/height control system is proved out on this table, we can either decide to keep the base structure or change to the grid beam configuration.
