=Overview=
If you want to contribute CAD Designs to OSE, then join this team! OSE is always looking for help in developing the GVCS and ultimately in creating a collaborative network of people to draw upon for all open source projects. Whether you're a seasoned engineer or brand new to CAD this is a great place to learn, share and create in an open, collaborative environment with people from around the world.

=How to Join=
You can start by posting a short text about yourself and your skills on the [http://openfarmtech.org/forum/categories/introductions Introductions category] of the discussion forum.

Then, please read the [[Team Culturing]] page and fill out the survey, as described there. Don't forget to add '''<nowiki>[[Category: CAD team]]</nowiki>''' to your survey page so that you get [[:Category: CAD team|listed]].

=Specialties=
The goal of the CAD group is to create a completely cross-functional design team that can utilize everyone's expertise in developing refined products. One person can create a concept or design and then send it out to the rest of the design/CAD team for review with their specific specialties in mind. Here are some of the specialties that we'd like on the team:
* For Modeling and Drafting:
** 3D Modeling
** Mechanical Design
** Drafting
** CAD Standards
** GD&T

* For design reviews and discussions:
** Hydraulics
** Drivetrain
** Welding
** FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
** Manufacturing
** CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)
** HFE (Human Factors Engineering) & Safety
** Biologists for Bio-mimicry
