Review of Doc Jam Taxonomy - I'd also suggest the creation of a separate taxonomy for an instance of a project. That is, an individual constructed hardware unit in meatspace. This could be a very simple taxonomy. URL, location, attribution, project version URL, lessons learned, design review, etc. By having it as a defined taxonomy, the concept of replications could be removed from the genealogy field, and instead could be built from the web. Anytime someone builds a project and puts up a descoverable page describing that build (in the correct semantic format) it would that provide information back to the project collaborators and also potential future builders.
