New page

Currently i don't do much Soldering / PCB work, and probably will never be the one personally doing (although i'd love to have a Cleanroom Microelectronics Section at the ultimate makerspace / OSEH type thing

Although it can store nearly anything, the only real "Workspace" i have now is my Prusa i3MK3s+, and various hand tools related to that, so this isn't too much of use

Once i have some expendable income (and double check there are no local sources), i'm probably going to buy a BUNCH of Metric Hardware / Metric Fasteners , some good quality Lead+Cadmium Free Thermal Inserts , so the modern version of that "Parts Rainbow" will work great for the scale i'm at.

Once i get to Makerspace Scale i'm probably going to invest in setting up a Project Materials Vending Machine for as much of the materials as possible. [Christopher Helmke]] is making an AMAZING system for Sorting/Counting+Conveying+Dispensing Screws and similarly sized parts, so by the time i get to this level of things it may already ve developed for the most part!

I have seen some people use Gridfinity to organize Vehicle Maintenance tools, although i don't do too much of that yet (Garage is currently moreso storage + parked car, rather than parked cars and maintenance facility as well)

I don't think it is as suitable as a standard Pegboard / French Cleat system with Shadowboard infographics etc for things such as Metalwork and to an extent Woodwork

With proper Sawdust Management it can probably be used for a decent chunk of things short of Power Tools

For welding i had, in my weld booth, things set out almost like a Surgical Tool Tray, i had:
**My Chipping Hammer and Wire Brush on my Left for easy grabbing
**The Locking Pliers ( Vice Grips ) and standard Pliers were on my right side
**Most of the other tools were scattered about, and FSCJ (at least as of when i was there) did NOT utilize a Shadowboard etc

Kitchen Use might be of use, as well as Desk Organization . I'm still in the process of looking for / printing a Heavy Duty 3D Printed Laptop Stand (ie can hold my Thick alienware laptop, or older 2010's laptops that aren't Ultrabooks like most of the designs design around

Rambling a bit, but TLDR:
*As of now FDM 3D Printing is the only "Workstation" that needs gridfinity for me.
*I may end up using for Small Parts Organization and as a Toolbox Insert for my Electrician Tools
*Feel free to check it out and see what you can add to that section!
