New page

We use the Metal Version of this stuff for making custom hoses / repairing hoses at work. Seen the fiber reinforced plastic type occasionally for some packages (Warehouse Shelfing made from Steel Tube in a Bundle IIRC)\

All in all works pretty well, the steel stuff would be recyclable i'd imagine too. Most have a special tool for the ratcheting akin to what marcin linked for the plastic version, but you "set" it with a [[Non-Sparking Hammer]] on the anvil part, then clip off any excess with [[Metal Snips]] ("Aviation Snips" / "Tin Snips" etc)

We also have a cart for all that at work that has a spool of that metal strap stuff too

Also i forget the exact name; it was some German Compound Word i think; go figure, but i saw an Automated Machine for this on some government surplus site a while back. Similarly complex to those Toroid Winders and Sewing Machines where wrapping with one's hands is easy, but a mechanism is complex due to the "passing it" part, BUT pretty common it seems

Also note that as with Bungee Cords and whatnot, watch out for the band flying when you cut these open lol
