New page

=Basics=
*A Camping / Expoditionary Cooking System made by [[Trangia AB]]
*Essentially:
**A Windshield (to prevent [[Flameout]] due to wind, even with rudimentary (ie non-inherently windproof) heat sources)
***To an extent it also aids in Heat Exchange by ducting exhaust around the sides of the pots and such more closely
**A Variety of Heat Sources
***A “Spirit Burner”, meant for burning [[Fuel Alcohol]] is the most traditional
***They also offer various [[Canister Stoves]] , adapers for Liquid Fueled [[Pressure Stoves]] , and a [[Gel Burner]]
**They then have a variety of [[Nesting Cookwear]] and a Kettle
***The whole setup thus nests nicely into a compact form
*All in all between being able to operate in VERY cold weather/high altitude, being [[KISS (Acronym) ]] based in it’s design, and VERY [[Skookum]] it’s overall a great piece of kit
**The counterpoint would be that with [[Freeze Dried Pouch Meals]] + a [[Jetboil]] or similar [[Inverted Canister Stove]] (and/or high [[Isubutane]] / [[Propane]] [[Canister Gas]] ) and/or simply [[MREs]] with [[Flameless Ration Heaters]] it could be seen as SOMEWHAT obsolete in the era of [[Ultralight Backpacking]] etc
***However for making “proper food” / melting snow for drinking water / having a nicely designed mobile cook set for various adventures, it does what it does
*The company also sells a smaller version, although this is not entirely “worth it” supposedly (not enough room for the spirit burner to function correctly/not ultralight/compact)
