&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;I hope to learn the skills necessary to engineer plants to survive/thrive in the inevitable climate catastrophe that we&amp;#039;re heading toward. My ultimate goals are to protect the food supply (engineering drought resistant crops), design nature-based carbon capture systems (see the work being done by the Salk Institute), and reversing desertification (check out the cool work being done with biological soil crusts).&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
