Creating user page for new user.

New page

Vashti Seth is the founder and CEO of charity: Deki.

Deki, works with communities in Togo, West Africa, to help build resilience to poverty and the effects of climate change.

Rural communities in Africa contribute the least to climate change, yet are some of the most affected by it, already experiencing changes in their environment, such as higher temperatures and irregular rainfall, which has a devastating effect on their ability create an income.

At Deki we build resilience by providing accesses to:
• Microcredit to low-income families so that they grow their livelihood.
• Training for farmers on how to develop climate-resilient farming methods.
• Micro-insurance to cover health care emergencies.
• Safe drinking water and WASH training.
• Energy efficient cookstoves that protect families from black smoke and reduce carbon emissions.
• Women empowerment training, teaching women to become agents for change within their communities.

Vashti founded Deki, after being inspired to change just one girl’s life Deki Dolkha, a Tibetan refugee.

The charity has impacted the lives of over 200,000 people.
