Basics
- This page aims to go over the Existing Options for an Engineered Animal Product Substitute for Chicken Meat / Related Foodstuffs
Chicken Nuggets
- Easy in that since they are ALREADY “Mystery Meat” with no large Macrostructure and disguised in breading etc they are an easy thing to replicate
Brands
Impossible Meat
- Impossible Meat
- User: Eric here,
- Tried their Regular (at least compared to the Gardenia they are better
- Honestly good. Would need to do a side by side with the “real” thing, but honestly no complaints
- Unlike the Impossible Burger (at Burger King), the leanness of Chicken may make the lack of small pockets of fat etc a non-issue
- Although these were in no way “dry”

Gardenia
- User: Eric here,
- The fake chicken was similarly fine, the breading wasn’t there, at least for me
- It seemed a bit more akin to Panko Bread Crumbs / Fancier “Italian Bread Crumbs” which was a bit too fancy/not quite right for chicken nuggets
- Not bad though
- No defined macrostructure, but again to be expected for chicken nuggets

Chicken Tenders
Gardenia
- User: Eric here again
- A BIT of defined macrostructure akin to the Muscle fibers in actual animal chicken
- Not as tough/persistent, but honestly isn’t that big of a loss (in terms of “fighting with it” such as Tendon/Bone filled bits etc, or undercooked food)
- Breading is the same “not quite there”, but for something you may eat plain such as Fried Chicken Tenders etc it honestly works
- Could probably make a decent Chicken Parmesean kind of deal with these + some good pasta…
