Prototyping Plan
- Build a testing rig for measuring pull. Scale attached to a large tree.
- Test the 14,400 tractive effort version first - by using 4 tracks on a simple machine - and low horsepower
- Add heavy duty blade module 5000 lb
- Test the 2-motor per track version, 29k lb traction effort, non-aggressive tracks. Determine point of spinout
- Test the aggressive tracks and determine traction advantage
Speed Calculations
- 1 Power Cubes (v17.10) per motor gives 1.5 mph speed (based on [1]
- 32 hp for initial testing of 8-motor version gives 0.4 mph or 30 fpm.
