*Start with this for a similar idea, but this is single-split and needs to be attached to a wheel hub.:


=Design Rationale 1=
*Take a very thick keyed coupler - say start with 3" solid coupler, 1/2" keyway
*Slit it in half
*Weld tabs on it for the 3/4" bolt hole
*Weld one half of the keyed coupler into the rest of the metal wheel
