=Laser Diode=
==Advantages==
*No mirrors required, only the diode, and lenses on that axis
*No Seperate Laser Tube Needed
*CAN be cheaper

==Disadvantages==
*Seem to be sold anywhere from 1-10w no more than that
*So they can only do engraving, and some of the higher up wattage, and the 10w laser can cut some materials (wood, acrylic)

=CO2 Laser=
==Advantages==
*40 watt is usually the lowest power offered, and thus is far more capable than diode systems
*Usually has a large bed more comprable to a [[CNC Router]]

==Disadvantages==
*Usually needs a watercooler for the tube
*Has a glass laser tube (fragile)
*Has a larger bed (great for larger projects, but takes up more space)
