One method of attaining natural superinsulation with CEB construction is to create a thick wall cavity (2-3 feet wide) which can be filled with hammermilled straw for insulation. Hemp wool, Styrofoam, a sawdust/lime mixture, perlite or Greensulate (made from grain husks by mycelium) are possible alternatives to strawbale. This is worth exploring in our work.
