Spent the majority of the day constructing roof modules and jigs for them. Most of the wood was warped so major effort was needed to force them into straightness. The final module needed to be a different size and thus a different pattern too. Insulation was cut to match. Also learned the basic functions of a skid steer.

The following is a log of AI usage with a goal of creating the above CAD file. I had no prior experience with CAD before this interaction.

Arrived at Factor e Farm for the first time. Spent two hours in the morning learning from Marcin. Then built eight 16' frames for hangar roof modules with Tom. Spent the rest of the day creating two risers, a 12' and a 7' 2" also with Tom. Learned lots about using nail gun, air compressor, circular saw vs corded saw efficiency, and even material logistics techniques.

Given the goal was to create an 8ftx4ft single center stud version of the wall module & that I already had in possession a 9ftx4ft double center stud version: I asked both chatgpt free version and claude sonnet 4.5 to make the needed edits to the existing file. Each of these interactions failed. They can be inspected here:

I then asked chatgpt to create the 8ftx4ft single center stud version with a detailed prompt unrelated to the old file. It failed to create the file sufficiently (though here I was just asking for a file as opposed to a macro script, so perhaps it would have responded better to a macro script request). You can see this interaction here:

Finally I asked claude sonnet 4.5 to create the 8ftx4ft single center stud version with the same detailed prompt unrelated to the old file. It not only responded with a CAD file but also a macro script. Upon executing the macro script a sufficient wall module was provided. You can see this interaction here:
