First steps to developing an open-source Sawmill in CAD:
After installing Linux Ubuntu 9.10 on my laptop I opened the "Synaptic Package Manager" (System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager), typed QCad in the "Quick search" box and installed Qcad version 2.0.5.0-1-5ubuntu1 on my system.
From there I launched Qcad and spent 3hours reading the Manual and experimenting drawing a rough version of a "Sawmill Space Frame"
I managed do read about half the Qcad manual in 3 hours and with the plan to make a rough drawing these are the results I got;
