Design Sprint Announcements

  • SATURDAY, October 26, 2013 : From 9am - 9pm CDT-USA. Agenda : a real-time documentation session as the Ironworker is constructed. See Development Status and Needs for more information. Work Day volunteers are welcome! Please contact the TCM: techcommunity@opensourcecology.org.
  • 9am - The Ironworker build starts
  • Noon - On-site personnel upload fabrication pictures to Trovebox to support documentation efforts
  • 1pm - 1) Create a LibreCAD/Sketchup DXF file of the module/part that was just constructed; 2) Performance calculations; 3) Animation creation; 4) Create an Ironworker infographic; 5) Develop a Quality Control checklist; 6) Develop test procedures
  • 4pm - Check in
  • 8pm - Check in

Special Events

The Microhouse

  • October 18th - 22nd 2013: The Microhouse is nearing completion and we are scheduling a dedicated effort to finish the structure to include windows, trim, and installation of cabinetry and fixtures. Volunteers will be needed to assist with this effort! Please contact OSE's Technical Community Manager, Audrey: audrey@opensourceecology.org for more details.

Dedicated Project Visit

  • Are you interested in coming to Factor e Farm to participate in design, build-outs, or infrastructure improvements? Consider a Dedicated Project Visit. Specific skills needed: mechanical engineering, 3D design, CNC programming, fabrication, machine design, video (editor, cameraman, etc), technical writing, building construction, welding, 3D printer design/manufacturing and web design. Documentation

  • Join the Documentation Team! OSE is developing ground breaking rapid documentation processes to facilitate replication of the GVCS. Be part of the development process! This collaborative video editing infrastructure is similar to OSEdit. Documentation sessions are held during Design Sprints...or consider focusing on Documentation during Dedicated Project Visit. Sign up at the Tech Team Culturing Survey for remote video editing - make sure to mark Video Editor in the skill section.
