Uses in the OSE context / product ecology
- small wind installations, mechanically coupled to air compressor
- energy storage; also Wind Integrated Compressed Air Energy Storage In Colorado
- pneumatic motors
- compressed air water pump
- various ventilation uses (e.g. air exchange in greenhouses, biomass drying, Passivhaus etc.), as an alternative to electric fans
- control air flow in updraft and other gasifiers
- inflatable structures (greenhouses)
- cooling (possibly via vortex tube)
- generate compressed air via (solar) heat engine that directly powers an air compressor
