Fab Lab Phase 3 centers on the creation of an Open Source Design Repository. This is geared at generating a comprehensive design set for post-centralist production in a peer economy - starting with those items most essential to human prosperity. Designs may be downloaded readily and applied to Fab Lab equipment in order to provide on-demand fabrication for meeting needs.
For example, 3D image files for 3D printing may be downloaded to produce an engine block or turbine casting mold - which is then used with metal casting equipment to produce the actual engine block or rotor.
