Materials

Cold-rolled iron rectangular bar

25mm x 150mm x 300mm is about 9kg. Iron density = 7.87g/cm3

Build

Use surface grinder.

Surface top and bottom faces to be parallel.


Use roughing endmill on mill.

(ex. 1/2" dia 4 flute)

Make 18/32" wide, 0.6" deep slots across the length of the iron bar

Spacing from long edge:


Use T-slot cutter on mill.

Match or be a bit less than the depth of the slot. Make the T-slot across the length of the iron bar.
