==='''WHY''' are you motivated to support/develop this work?===
*''Do you endorse open source culture?''
I believe that this is the way forward for society, sharing resources through a communal database hence making them accessible, maintainable and affordable for people.
I am more inspired than motivated by your work.
*''Why are you interested in collaborating with us?''
Your agendas and practice are very close to my heart, i would like to gain experience and skills while contributing to a cause i believe in.
I am also interested in implementing what i learn back home and in developing areas.
*''Are you interested in teaching about the GVCS?''
I would appreciate an opportunity to further discuss the possibility of passing the message on.
*''Are you interested in economic relocalization possibilities arising from the GVCS?''
Yes, i think that through the successful application of the GVCS communities will become less dependent on governing bodies, promoting self sufficiency.
*''Do you want to use the GVCS technologies yourself? Do you want to build them yourself?''
Yes i do.
I plan to build them myself.
*''Are you interested in starting up enterprise using the GVCS technologies?''
I have plans to use the GVCS technologies in a friends eco farm.
*''Are you interested in having the GVCS technologies fabricated by your local custom fabricator?''
No, i plan to fabricate the GVCS myself.
*''Are you interested in applying the GVCS to third world development? To redevelopment of crisis areas? To development of derelict areas in the developed world?''
Yes, i have in mind a specific place in the Philippines that i would like to introduce the GVCS to.
*''Are you interested in starting up Industry 2.0 flexible fabrication enterprises for your local community, by drawing from a global repository of freely down-loadable designs and fabricating using open source fabrication equipment?''
Yes, that is the main reason for me.
*''Are you interested in the potential of the GVCS for developing local food systems?''
Yes, we have plans to grow our own food at the farm. Im positive that idea would benefit from using the GVCS technologies.
*''Are you interested in doing academic studies/papers, publishing books, or doing other analysis of our efforts?''
I have recently applied for different courses touching on sustainable art and design.
It would be interesting to include the project's ideals in my research.
*''Are you interested in financial investment opportunities arising from our work?''
Yes i am, mainly by the possibility of cutting down the calculated investment price for the different projects around the farm.
*''Are you interested in the distributive economic aspects of our work, and if so, how do you see this playing out?''
I believe there is a good potential for your work to bring forward the concept of local industry.
*''Are you interested in building renewable energy production facilities based on open hardware (solar concentrator electric, wind, biomass power)?''
Yes, we aim to harness natural energy on the farm.
*''Are you interested in building resilient communities based on access to the GVCS?''
It is very interesting, my frinds and i have been discussing the different aspects of an autarky for some time now. Access to the GVCS looks like it can support that idea.
*''Are you interested in creating a bug-out hut using GVCS technologies?''
I am not familiar with the term bug-out hut but if its similar to an earthship the answer would be yes.
*''How do you think that the GVCS can help alleviate the instabilities of global monetary systems?''
It may offer people ways of becoming self reliant so they will be less affected by the financial flactuations.
*''How do you think that the GVCS can address issues related to resource conflicts?''
I am not certain.
*''How do you think that the GVCS can address issues of overpopulation?''
I am not certain.
*''How do you think that the GVCS can address issues of resource depletion and environmental degradation?''
Should the GVCS prove to work and spread on a global level i hope it will encourage people to be less passive with resource management and environmental preservation.
*''Do you have any other comments that you'd like to make?''
After reading through the articles and your site i find your goal very close to heart.
I have spent the last few years providing technical solutions in various projects touching on architecture, design and art, having sustainability and and social issues in mind.
I was born in a kibbutz in north Israel. My upbringing involved agriculture, animals and communal living. At age 15 i was introduced to fabrication processes of farm machinery for animals and irrigation – that mainly included light mechanics and welding.
A few years later i started working in the Israeli creative industry, producing large and small scale elements for architects, designers, theatre and artists. During that time i managed a metal workshop and founded an independent art collective, creating installations and performance most of which revolved around manufacturing process.
Three years ago i relocated to the UK and took on a position at Heaterwick Studio (www.heatherwick.com) as a workshop technician, providing technical solutions on different projects designed by the practice. Following that experience i began working as freelance technician, collaborating with artists on large projects including kinetics and human powered transportation.
Currently i am residing in the UK and am looking to further develop myself through higher education in sustainable art and design. I intend to apply for the next year of academic which should begin either in September or January.
I would embrace an opportunity to get involved with the work you do. Id like to learn as much as i can so i may further practice and implement these concepts back home and in developing areas.
I hold an NVQ certificate in welding fabrication and machining. I have experience with manufacturing of bespoke and industrial processes, contraption and prototype to architectural site construction. I am skilled in a wide range of fabrication methods and materials and am always keen to learn new processes, i am interested in learning ways to promote sustainable ideas.
i have experience with driving on different size and type vehicles.
*''What should happen so that you become more involved with the project?''
You like what you read, you are happy for me to come over and spend some time with you, obtaining a tourist visa to the USA,me raising funds so i can travel and support myself during my stay.
*''What are you missing in the project?''
I am missing reference to the social and emotional implications this project has.
*''What are your suggestions for improvement of the project?''
I am not that familiar with the project to think of improvements at this point.

WHAT

 • What have you already contributed to the OSE project? (technical contributions, blogging about us, financial support, organizing events, translations, interviews, video editing, publications, publicity work, behind-the-scenes work, CAD work, wiki contributions, computer support, etc)

Other than forwarding internet links to friends i have yet to contribute to the OSE project.

Sociology

 • I am fascinated by the idea.

Home Economics

 • I enjoy cooking, never tried to cook for a large group before.

Building

 • I have experience with fabrication of different materials.I can operate a tractor.I have a certificate in welding fabrication and machining.I have experience in building dwelings.

HOW can you help?

 • How are you interested in contributing to the work of GVCS development?

Yes i am.

 • Can you volunteer to work with us, and if so, how many hours per week?

Depends on the duration the US immigration control stamps me upon entry. Potentialy 60 hours per week.

 • Are you interested in working with us for pay? If so, what services can you offer, and what is your hourly or per-project rate?

I would like to work with you as a volunteer, it would be nice to avoid paying for accomodation and food.

 • Are you interested in purchasing equipment from us to help bootstrap development?

 • Are you interested in bidding for consulting/design/prototyping work?

 • Would you like to see yourself working with us on a full-time basis?

Im not allowed to work in the USA.

 • Are you interested in being part of the world's first, open source, resilient community? The GVCS is the preparatory step for the OSE Village Experiment - a 2 year, immersion experiment (2013-2014) for testing whether a real, thriving, modern-day prototype community of 200 people can be built on 200 acres using local resources and open access to information? We are looking for approximately 200 people to fill a diverse array of roles, according to the Social Contract that is being developed. This may be the boldest social experiment on earth - a pioneering community whose goal is to extend the index of possibilities regarding harmonious existence of humans, ecology, and technology - as a beacon of light to benefit of all people on Earth.

Yes i am.
