This function includes all all the information needed to construct, operate, and maintain the village system. Electronic form is preferred for ease of distribution, but physical versions may be needed in some cases.

Types of information include:

* '''Design Data''', which includes reference data, and how to plan, size, or modify facilities and equipment for a specific village project.
* '''Manufacturing Data''', which includes drawings, parts and materials lists, and assembly instructions.
* '''Software Data''', which includes source code for equipment software, and other software used within a village project.
* '''Operating Data''', which includes equipment manuals, operating procedures, and process instructions for non-equipment tasks.
* '''Training Data''', which includes skill requirements, training plans, and tutorials for the people involved in a project.

Tasks within this function include:

* Acquiring, storing, and distributing data as needed
* Support activities for the project where the result is information rather than a physical output.  Examples are planning, scheduling, accounting, purchasing items, and taking orders for production.
