IT Tasks

You can see a list of current IT-related tasks at the OSE IT board on Trello. You can add comments and vote for tasks there too.

Here are described the IT Tasks we need help with:

Script for Team Culturing

• NOTE: Some work is being done on this task, see the related discussion in the forum

People fill out the Team Culturing in this form. The Team Culturing Curator (currently Nikolay) gets the results by hand and fills them out as a Wiki page. This is time-consuming and can be automated.

Wished Procedure:

• The form is filled out.
• The Team Culturing Curator (TCC) exports the results to *.CSV file.
• TCC copies the last entries from *.CSV file into a converter script and receives the Wiki Code.
• TCC creates a new page with the received Wiki code and notifies the person to whom the Team Culturing belongs.

IT Tasks:

• Create the CSV-to-Wiki converter.
  • You can use already existing Javascript Code: http://survey.opensourceecology.org/convert/csv2wiki.html which we used for the same survey, but the input *.CSV was differently structured. Possibly with few changes it can be adapted.

• Create the CSV-to-Wiki converter for Europe
  • Same task as above

Make the Bookmark Thread button of the forum Visible

The bookmark button of the forum threads is hardly visible and recognizable. It is a white empty box at the top right part of the header of the category above the thread title.

IT Task:

• Make the Bookmark visible, by changing the CSS and HTML of the forum.
  • There should be a written text "Bookmark this discussion"
  • The color should be easily recognizable from a distance.
  • Possibly add the same source code also at the bottom of every thread.
