Organic material is sorted into two categories. Nitrogen and carbon rich materials. Cellulose based materials are the carbon feedstock and everything else is nitrogen. These are mixed together in a one to one ratio before loading into a large in vessel composter. This in-vessel unit is a large rotating drum that properly oxygenates the materials aiding the bacterial breakdown. The tumbler is loaded daily and downloaded daily at the other end. The downloaded material is put into static piles to finish and cool for several weeks. Once cooled, it  is ready to be filtered for the finer particles and packaged into 50 pound recycled plastic bags.

Water is drawn off the utility or collected from the river. It is boiled using heat from the gasifier and generator exhaust. It is recondensed and filtered through layers of mineral sands. Then the water is vortexed in a ceramic egg vessel. A  magnetic sand surrounding the egg restructures the water molecules. To further enhance this healing water, we expose it to ultraviolet light. Also the water is exposed to  the resonant sound frequency of 136 which is the earth tone that musical tuning forks are tuned to. This water will be singing with vibration by the time it is dispensed into your glass egg.

Ideally when you come to our facility you can both  drop off your recyclable materials and have you glass egg vessel filled and pick up some compost all at the same time.  When you purchase your vessel, we will engrave your encasing with your name so that it won't be lost. We refill the vessel for everyone based on a sliding scale of what you can afford so that no one is denied purified water. If you don't have any money to exchange for your water, we offer volunteer opportunities to help and learn the process.

Hello Open Source Ecology team and users. I want to introduce you to a page I'm developing that aims to create open source design for the benefit of all hardware developers.

https://sites.google.com/site/civilization2point0/home

Specifically, I'm interested in solar for gasification, steam electrical generation, and feedstock allocation & preparation for the gasifier. I believe this technology, which is nearly 100% efficient, will replace our domestic fossil fossil fuel requirements with synthetic biofuels; aka renewable or green fuels. In terms of feed stocks, it would take the mass production of algae to meets these huge demands coupled with other bio mass and recycled materials like tires, plastics, and hazardous waste. Since algae is the fastest reproducing plant and provides the majority of our oxygen already it makes sense to develop widespread farming of algae for food nutrient supplement and for energy.

Because we has a major problem with methane pollution at the land fill as well as a host of pollution problems as a result of dumping civilizations post consumer scraps in the ground to be covered over, I'm determined to close these sites and bioremediate them utilizing solar gasification. This badly damaged land, once a liability, transforms into an education center for open source manufacturing and recycler community called O.S.C.A.R.Villages. The acronym stands for Open Source Civilization of Abundant Resource. This community will teach a permaculture education, an eco vocational format. This enables students not only to understand the components of sustainable and local resource based community, but they will have the hands on experience to help rebuild our polluted dump sites into viable resilient recycler villages.

Its important that this recycler village is self replicating through open source hardware design/build methods. With the leadership of Open Source Ecology, its easy to realize that like myself, many people are discovering that sharing the efficient modular design opens the door to freedom for all species who support us. The widespread construction of the basic machines required for advanced civilization is one of the keys to changing the paradigm from a scare resource situation to one of abundance. We are effectively hacking civilization as we know it to have chance to fulfill our potential. The matrix of the industrial age that elevated us from the state of simplistic agrarian life, a beautiful thing as well, is transcending into the information age of Aquarius with the emergence of the open source sharing concept. We are learning to minimize wasted energy and pollution that results enabling a means to rebuild the damaged ecosystems that the capitalistic model of externalizing( a form of theft) has inherited to the world. We have alot of work to do but this is a great start. Thank you for taking time to review Open Source Ecology on the web.

Eco Depot

Synopsis of ECO DEPOT A business model for sustainability

Eco Depot= From ecology, the understanding of the relations that living organisms have to each other. Depot translates as storehouse.

Overall focus: Eco Depot diverts low to no value scrap materials such as construction debris, tires, biodegradables, and mixed plastics, from the landfill into clean renewable transportation fuel. Eco Depot provides fuel voucher incentives for haulers and the general public when they drop off their garbage and recyclables at our Material Recovery Facilities or transfer stations. Materials are separated and weighted by a station attendant. The donor receives a credit toward Eco Depot’s Green diesel or Gasoline, clean burning fuels provided by partnering common fuel stations. Eco Depot excepts all discarded material which would pollute the environment at the landfill. We can safely handle toxic waste, medical waste, animal waste produced from food processing plants, manures, sewage, construction debris, plastics, and used tires which are converted into synthetic fuel. In short, Eco Depot adds value to all “waste” materials there by eliminating the concept of waste, something that inherently has no value.

Methane Digestion and Algae production All of the organic biodegradable materials are loaded into the methane digestor. Sludge sewage water is added which ferments creating methane and carbon dioxide. The methane is burned in our steam generator which produces all of the electricity to power our plant while selling surplus power back to the grid. The C02 is feed to our algae bio reactors. Other agriculture waste is is feed to the algae fermentation tanks. This provides sugars to the algae enabling a 24/7 production cycle. These algae are harvested and pressed for their abundant oil content. The bio oil is gasified and turned into synthetic fuel. These processes consume C02 from the atmosphere creating carbon neutral energy.

Eco Depot statement of purpose: Closing the landfills and disrupting the Petroleum industry is our commitment to a sustainable planet. The rich petro oil companies will have to invest in Algae to compete with the emerging bio fuel tech companies. The EPA has stated that methane released from food and other bio mass rotting in the landfill is one of the major contributors to air pollution and atmospheric unbalance. Right now the ecology of planet earth is in a very vulnerable state. Humans are consuming our resources inefficiently causing widespread waste and pollution. Our oceans are filled with trash and we are over havesting species of aquatic life. Our oceans must be protected. It is time to take our destiny into our hands. It is unacceptable that executives and stock holders of the petroleum industry are earning record breaking profits extracting Earths’ coolant ( fossil crude),while we have healthy alternatives to meet those energy needs. If we don’t extract carbon from the air to make carbon fuels, the carbon neutral Eco Depot process, a surplus of co2 reduces oxygen levels. This is well known by most. If our temperatures fluctuate too much our ice caps begin to melt at the poles. The change in salinity in the ocean changes the ocean temps and ability for algae to grown. Algae provides most of the oxygen to our planet. I understand that these corporations that have bigger economies than small countries and make billions of dollars per year in profits are beginning to develop algae production for energy. Eco Depot provides another strong demonstration for them that clean green domestic energy is not only profitable but critical and enviable.

Eco Depot Development Phases Phase One: Eco Depot Power-plant: Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and Pyrolysis/ Fuel Refinery. The Powerplant is the heart of Eco Depo. This site will be developed near the 1 95 corridor. It is composed of three processes. The MRF mechanically separates the materials into separate piles. Materials like concrete and glass are made into building blocks for new building construction. Metals are ground up and smelted into ore for recasting machine parts. Biodegradables are loaded in the methane digestor for electrical production. Plastics, wood, paper, tires, other construction debris are ground and prepared for thermal decomposition. This closed loop emissions free process uses plasma gasification to convert the solid material into a gas, then into a liquid energy rich synthetic crude oil. The crude is run through a refinery process to distill the oil into constituent fuel grades such as diesel and gasoline, and jet fuel. Material drop off Stations: A network of transfer stations are developed at every major interstate exit that lead to a town with any sizable population. These material transfer stations are staffed by a small crew who separate and weigh all donated materials before loading them into separate containers. A voucher is given to donors to redeem at any fuel station that carries Eco Depot’s synthetic green diesel and gasoline. Eco Depot will partner with a large fuel distributor who will provide a green fuel pump for cars and trucks. Once containers are full, trucks are dispatched to deliver the containers to the MRF. Then the materials are processed for feedstock for the Synthetic fuel production. Once the fuel is refined into diesel and gas, a tank truck is dispatched to the partner fuel distributor.

Our Target Market: Our target market is to attract refuse and recycling haulers. If our community garbage haulers can drop their loads avoiding the tipping fees at the landfill and receive a fuel credit, we believe the landfills will be out of business.

Phase Two: Landfill mining: We want to offer a contract to purchase all of the materials in the ground from the landfill owners. Many of these sites are dangerous and a huge pollution liability over time. We offer to bio re mediate the landfill site so that the land owner will have options for developing their property without the worrying if they are destroying the natural resources around their land. Eco Depot will send in excavators and grinding equipment to efficiently load the landfill’s debris for transport. The material will arrive at the MRF which will separate all of the small pieces for the value adding process and fuel feedstock preparation. Eco Depot will also be contracted to clean up EPA Superfund sites.

Phase three: Eco Depot Travel Plaza Our travel Plaza is the flag ship of retail for our green products. We offer the sustainable and organic option to the travel and transportation segments of the economy. If you've traveled the highways and interstates in America you know how homogeneous the services are that provides food, lodging, and fuel. Our solution is a modern truck stop that supports local economies, recycled material building construction, recycled commodities and organic non gmo foods. Lodging: We offer hourly lodging so you can pay for the time you need to rest. 24 hours is sometimes three times as much time needed to lodge. This is a more affordable alternative to the standard 24 hour lodge rental. Local organic food: We offer the all organic Cafe. Our foods are sourced from small family farms with in one hundred miles. If the agricultural resources are not available, Eco Depot will sponsor a farmer by financing their land interest free. Eco Depot will provide seed money for green houses and equipment to get small farms up and running to supply our Travel Plazas. This is very important improvement to our fast food chain offerings. Genetically Modified Foods are a real burden on many levels. Eco Depot’s Organic Cafes are a beacon of light for the heath of the land and for our nutrition. Locavore Convenience store. This dry goods shop offers useful products for the traveler. Everything from hygiene products to snacks, to natural soft drinks, The Locavore aims to be the general store of eco friendly commodities made from in state artisans and makers. Eco Depo will develop a network of DIY product makers within each state that the Eco Depot operates in order to promote that states economy and work force. We offer financing on 3d printers and computers to enable makers to print useful recycled plastic products. This is a great low cost solution for providing many of the things that we currently import from developing countries where people work in unsatisfactory conditions. Yoga and fitness center. Want to help power the building’s energy needs while getting some exercise? Our tread mills add power to the grid while people get their run on. Yoga instructors teach class on stretching and energy healing techniques. This will offer drivers more energy for the long haul.

These are a summery of the goals of Eco Depot; Americas New Age Travel Plaza and material recycling for renewable fuel infrastructure. Please get in touch if you are interested in developing this important franchise.

CARE Community Arts & Recycling Exchange

C.A.R.E. Community Art & Recycling Exchange

A recycling operation that converts biodegradable, plastics, and glass materials into compost, five gallon recycled glass vessels, and purified water. The operation is funded by the sale of finished compost and purified water delivered in five gallon glass vessels.

Facility and intake: Our Material Recovery Facility, or MRF, is located conveniently for residences and business to drop off their discarded plastic, glass, and biodegradable material. This organic material includes food scraps, lawn debris, paper, cardboard, manure and animal carcass. There is no charge for dropping off these materials. We hope this is a large incentive for homes and business who also want to reduce the cost of their refuse hauling.

The processes: Organic material processing into compost. Organic material is sorted into two categories, nitrogen and carbon rich materials. Once cooled, it is ready to be filtered for the finer particles and packaged into fifty pound recycled plastic bags. Equipment needed: Front end loader, material mixer, in-vessel tumbler, trommel filter screen, bagging equipment.

Recycled glass vessel production: All colors of glass are received and ground. The sand is filtered of its contaminates, such as paper labels, and is loaded into a kiln. The kiln melts the glass into forms that take the shape of a five gallon sized egg. A recycled plastic 3D printed casing is made to house the egg so it can be transported without risk of breaking. Equipment required: A tumbler loaded with steel balls continually crushing the glass into small particles. The sand is conveyed via tractor to the kiln. Glass egg molds. A 3D printer and the extruder that makes print stock from discarded plastic for the egg vessel housing production.

Plastics to energy to power the process: All moving parts of these systems are energized via plastic thermal depolymerisation(gasification) which produces synthesis gas that is burned in an electric generator. One genset produces dc current to maintain a battery bank. All motors are powered by this battery bank. The glass kilns are run on 220 volt ac power produced by the ac genset running on gasified plastics. The 3D printer and extruder are powered by 220 v ac as well. Summary of Equipment required: Plastic shredder, gasifier including auger and filter system, both ac and dc electric gensets, battery bank.

Water Purification Plant Water is drawn off the utility or collected from the river. It is boiled using heat from the gasifier and generator exhaust. It is re-condensed and filtered through layers of mineral sands. Then the water is vortexed in a ceramic egg vessel. A magnetic sand surrounding the egg restructures the water molecules. This water will be singing with vibration by the time it is dispensed into your glass egg. Equipment required: Water distiller, mineral filter, several large ceramic egg vessels for restructuring, ultraviolet lights, magnetic sand, sound frequency generator, and dispensing unit.

Distribution: Ideally, when you come to our facility, you can both drop off your recyclable materials, have your glass egg vessel filled and pick up some compost, all at the same time. When you purchase your vessel, we will engrave your encasing with your name so that it won't be lost. We refill the vessel for everyone based on a sliding scale of what you can afford, so that no one is denied purified water. If you don't have any money to exchange for your water, we offer volunteer opportunities to help and learn the process.

Delivery: CARE offers delivery of our purified water jugs as well as collection of your recyclables. For a fee, we can set up regular or on demand courier service.

In summary, the entire operation can exist on a footprint of several acres. The process is operated both indoors and outdoors. We we would like to partner with a fabrication shop, who can build pedal powered vehicles for the courier service, to further reduce the carbon footprint of our recycling and water distribution.

Our name, C.A.R.E. is an acronym for Community Arts and Recycling Exchange. This means we aim to support the arts by hiring artisans to create designs on the encasement of our water vessels. We also support community gardens and schools with donations of compost and purified water to help our community grow as healthy as it can.

Thank you for taking time to read this proposal and I hope that CARE, with the help of our community, will make a very positive impact on the environment and our mind, bodies and spirits. It should certainly reduce landfill pollution and the expansion of landfilling valuable material discards.

If you are interested in getting involved, we will need grant writers, web developers, architects and engineers, as well as people with great PR skills. Please send me an email to dickiehaskell@gmail.com to get started.
