Fabrication Steps

(note: part numbers refer to the recently-published parts list on the Bill of Materials page)

1. Weld the Tube (S42) on the Press Plate (S26) so that it lines up with one edge of the Press Plate and the Press Plate extends 1" beyond the other side
2. Clamp the Sides (S29) on the ends of the tube as shown.
3. Clamp the Back between the extended ends of the Sides (S29)
4. Clamp the Vertical Support (S31) in the Brick Chamber so that it sits on the Press Plate and is next to the Tube.
5. Clamp the Inner and Outer Rails along the Sides
6. Clamp the Roof between the Rails at the Front side of the Drawer as shown
7. Tack weld the clamped drawer at a few locations down to prevent warping when it is welded together.
8. Complete the welding joints, welding at different locations as you go to prevent warping.
9. Check the completed drawer to ensure that it is still straight.
10. If they are not straight, the rails may need to be adjusted to ensure that the bearings will roll fit them correctly; if the drawer is not even and aligned, it may not fit properly in the frame.
11. Weld the Cylinder Tongue (S23) to the centre of the Back (S22) of the Drawer.
