General

  • 0.3 mm accuracy
  • 1 liter per hour printing volume capacity for the amount of material deposited
  • Component cost of $300 for DIY fabrication
  • Controlled by open source software
  • Compatible plastics that RepRap can work with
  • Form of plastics that RepRap can work with (powder, flake, solid stock?)

Flexibility

  • Tool holder adaptable to microcircuit fabrication, therefore it could make its own control circuit
    • Plastic extruder head is replaced with small router to etch circuits from boards
  • Also adaptable to solid state laser head, so it could do circuits via lithography?
  • Connecting rods extrudable on a small scale, see Metal Extrusion Specifications
  • Basic design should be extendable to smaller and larger RepRap versions
