Interactive Video
Introduction
In this document, you'll find some information on how to create interactive links on OSE youtube video. This does not and should not be done on every video, yet in some cases, you might be interested to link your video to the existing pedagogical and interactive video we created in the summer of 2015 (see link here: http://youtu.be/IyDS3k7R1Tc) or to any new OSE interactive series of video.
basic steps to follow
Find here an introductory video Matt created about the basis:
- There are two ways to go to the annotation tab, which allows you to add interactive links to a video: 1) In the video manager tab of the OSE youtube account, click on the little arrow next to the 'edit' button of the video you want to work on. 2) When you are logged in to the OSE account, under each video, you'll see a few icons. Click on the 'speech bubble' icon.
- If it's a new video you want to upload, work in 'private mode' first. Just do not forget to turn your video 'public' at the end of your editing. You'll be able to do this in the video editor tab of the OSE channel. Select a video, and on top of hte list, there are several actions one can do, included the private/public/unlisted mode.
- Take 10 minutes to play around with the tool, but there are two main interactive links we do: 1) the notes are the rectangle box you'll see in most of the OSE pedagogical interactive project/ E.g.: http://youtu.be/IyDS3k7R1Tc 2) the spotlight (invisible link, and when one rolls over with the mouse, a text will appear). Useful list of links when you add interactive links to your video
When you add interactive links to your video, you might at some point link your video to existing videos. Here is a list so that you do not have to look it up for too long online. Please add your own new links, so that we can build upon this list in the future. Add both youtube link + the associated wiki link (to add in the comment box under the video)
