• Video Screen Capture - Go to "Ubuntu-Software-Centre" and install "XVidCap Screen Capture" for capturing work in Video format
• Kdenlive - nonlinear video editor. We presently use this at Factor e Farm
• Avidemux - rapid clip joining and cutting to prepare material for Kdenlive
• Gnome-screenshot - takes screenshots in Ubuntu 10.04
• GIMP - image format converter, editor
• Inkscape -

Diagrams, Charts, Mindmaps

• CMapTools - have not gotten this to work on Ubuntu 10.04

Useful Libraries for Any of the above software

Note: graphics libraries can turn any graphics program into a pattern language design program. Pattern language can be for technology, architecture, permaculture, etc.
