• Avoid loose clothing, remove all accessories that can become entangled, and secure long hair such that it cannot easily unravel or interfere in any way with the operations.

• Wear steel-toed footwear; depending on the workshop, you may want footwear that has both steel-toe and steel-plate.

• As a general rule, wear safety glasses and leather gloves for all fabrication operations except marking.

• Keep a first-aid kit accessible in the area, and ensure that the path to the first aid kit is unobstructed during all operations. You should be able to open the first-aid kit with 1 hand.

• Keep a means of emergency communication in the area.
