- Safety first! Follow all safety procedures! The objective is safe production! The process may take longer at the start, but you will gradually gain speed and quality while still remaining safe.
- Avoid loose clothing, remove all accessories that can become entangled, and secure long hair such that it cannot easily unravel or interfere in any way with the operations. Ideally, you should be able to squeeze out of your clothing if at any time it gets stuck or entangled.
- Wear steel-toed footwear; depending on the workshop, you may want footwear that has both steel-toe and steel-plate.
- For machine operations, wear earplugs securely.
- As a general rule, wear safety glasses and leather gloves for all fabrication operations except marking.
- Keep a first-aid kit accessible in the area, and ensure that the path to the first aid kit is unobstructed during all operations. You should be able to open the first-aid kit with 1 hand.
- Keep a means of emergency communication in the area.
- Ideally, you want at least another person in the area to provide assistance during any emergencies.
