WHO are you?

  • Name - Alex Shure
  • Location (country) - Germany
  • Contact Information (email, phone) - etemu.com at googlemail.com, mobile: +49 151 five two seven 16901
  • Introduction Video -
  • Resume/CV - technologist, inventor: electronics, prototyping, research and development.

WHY are you motivated to support/develop this work?

  • Do you support open source culture?

This question is pretty obsolete for any profile on this wiki.

  • Why are you interested in collaborating with us?

I like to create/craft/tinker.

  • What should happen so that you become more involved with OSE Europe?

Let's wait for some time to pass, OSE Community in Germany is too virgin right now. However, successful fundraising and a lab/workshop village/place full of interesting people, ideas and machines in Germany seem attractive to me.

  • What is missing in OSE Europe?

- New inventions. We shouldn't focus on the GVCS.

- An efficient electronic infrastructure, preferably low voltage DC.

- Also, the GVCS lacks some quite important everyday machines. For the average household, there are definitely some appliances missing: Washing machine, dish washer, cooking range/small oven, most importantly a refrigerator!

- Tools: Router, table saw, vacuum cleaner, chainsaw, ...

  • What are your suggestions for improvement in OSE Europe?

(tbd)

WHAT are your skills?

  • List all of your skills in these areas, at what level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and where did you practice them:
    • Humor - advanced, dark and filthy
    • Natural Building - earthship design basics, geodesic structures
    • Woodworking - intermediate. I worked as a carpenter some time ago. And I carved a spoon once.
    • Electronics - advanced. I prefer SMD over THT. I own more dev kits than jackets. My DSO has 4 channels.
    • Automation - intermediate. The light in my bathroom is automatically switched with a pyroelectric sensor.
    • Engineering - advanced
    • CAD Design - beginner
    • Energy - advanced -> power sources, renewable energy, efficiency calculations, grid layout, power consumption, rectifying techniques, power supplies, inverters, off-grid-systems
    • CNC - advanced -> construction, maintenance of stepping motor and servo driven machines, retrofitting lathes and milling machines with modern hardware, LinuxCNC (formerly EMC2, the enhanced machine controller)
    • Product Design - advanced <-> working at etemu.com prototyping
  • How have you already contributed to OSE, OSE Europe and Open Source Hardware?

I include the OSHW logo in any of my open source PCB and hardware designs. I talk about it and work actively on projects like the Germany/Wind_Turbine or TiVA

HOW can you help?

  • How do you want to contribute?

Giving advice in engineering and bringing new inventions to life. Creating OSE Community in Germany http://www.opensourceecology.de

  • Are you interested in building GVCS or other Open Source Hardware equipment in Europe? If so which ones?

Yes.

No.
