Summary
PeerNet is a draft proposal and architecture for a fully distributed global peer-to-peer network.
- Its design includes significant improvements over existing Internet architecture limitations.
- It can be deployed in increments that are interoperable with the existing Internet infrastructure.
Back End
The PeerNet networks consists of interoperable applications that share and communicate data that is submitted to them.
PeerNet repositories can be programmed by any development team as long as they adhere to a simple evolving set of community interpersonal and technical standards regarding PeerNet nodes.
Interfacing
There are two crucial standards for an application to be recognized by other PeerNet applications:
- Openness: all data must be shared and distributed to other PeerNet applications
- Persistence: all data must never be deleted
