With regards to the nutrient solution, i feel it would best reflect the paradigm of ecology to actually use bio-based nutrients making compost teas, worm castings, etc. to accomplish the optimal nutrient mixes, one for the vegetative phase and one for the flowering/fruiting phase, I have such recipes, and they can also double as foliar spray. Additionally, compost teas have the added benefit of innoculating the plants from harmful organisms, and is a vital aspect to integrated pest management.
