Open Source Office Suite: Libreoffice Use Libreoffice calc for spreadsheet, Libreoffice draw for diagrams
The file folder can be used as a storage location for extensive component information that requires a better place than the diagram or spreadsheet. Examples include fabrication drawings, exploded part diagrams, and component pictures.
The diagram shows relationships among different components for a holistic understanding of the project.
The spreadsheet allows categorization (so does diagram now), sorting, hyperlinking (so does diagram now) and information processing.
