Automatic Part Harvesting
Introduction
Full automation of 3D printing involves automatic part harvesting where parts are collected automatically from a print bed. Finished parts are taken off the print bed - and the print bed is once again ready for additional printing. With this automation in place, a 3D printer could print completely free of human intervention for many days while making large numbers of parts. This is relevant to the home-scale microfactory.
Mechanism
This is how parts can be cleared off the print bed - using the Universal axis as a bumper to bump parts off the print bed into a collection box:
