Basics

  • A Nonrenewable Resource based off of Organic Matter that has turned into sedimentary rock over a long period of time (or metamorphic rock in the case of bitumenous coal etc)
  • Often the main fuel of Blast Furnaces and Lime Kilns (Granted Typically Turned into Coke first)
  • SOME literature on it is useful as many processing, storage, and use techniques for coal can be applied to Charcoal or Biomass
