Advantages

  • Brute force power
  • Low cost
  • Standard part
  • Input voltage from 3-32 DC, can be driven from transistor logic level and up
  • Can be driven with PWM level, but not too high frequency
  • Part does not depreciate for a long time, ulike mechanical relays

Disadvantages

  • Cheapo clones may not give ~1/2 stated power, so verify if you have required power.
