International Standards Organization
(Redirected from ISO)
Basics
- The International Standards Organization (often abbreviated as ISO) is a group that does just that, makes standars that are valid worldwide
- Helps with International Trade and Collaboration
- A local governments’ standards CAN be used instead ( ASTM in the USA for instance) and there may be variations for components such as Washers , ISO is preferable in the abstract sense for it’s interoperability
- MINOR caveat in that Regulatory Compliance may make ASTM or API requirements as well, need to dig into that later. For OSE Designing Phases, in terms of what to look up, ISO is fine
