HintLightbulb.png Hint: Moving to flexible build plate for D3D Universal for easy part removal, using PEI or Buildtak for printing without heatbed. One mm should do it - around 0.04 inch or 1 mm. See McMaster below.

Options

  • Magnetic plate for 105C is cheap, but textured spring steel PEI surface is not at $30 minimum - [3] - + PEI spring steel sheet - [4]
  • 6x6" spring steel is $2 for 6"x6" sheet - [5]

Notes

  • Buildtak does not provide enough adhesion for ABS without heat - [6]
    • But it recommends no heat with PLA
    • User review says works without heat all the time for PLA and PETG - [7]

PEI and No Heat

  • Plenty of use cases for using PEI without heat - [8]

  • 0.5 mm is available - [9]
  • 0.8 mm is available - [10]

Spring Steel

  • Thicker spring steels - 2 or 10' long strips - around 0.04" - https://www.mcmaster.com/spring-steel
  • Spring steel plate is cheap at $3 for a 6"x6" plate from Amazon, 0.01" thick - [12]
  • 0.012" or 0.3 mm thick is $2 for a 6x6" plate at McMaster. [13]. Printerware is 0.6 mm - [14]
  • $5 per square foot - McMaster - [15]
