FeF is currently pursuing the Wally Mounster modern steam engine:

(You can purchase plans for this engine from SACA for $?) (see corresponding blog post - [1])

Wally Mounster of Tasmania, Australia developed a steam engine with two cylinders and a cross head cam that operates poppet valves to control the engine. It is recommended as a simple, easy to build engine by Tom Kimmel, President of the Steam Automobile Club of America (SACA).

The IP status of this design is not known at this time pending reply from Tom Kimmel.

PGS has contacted Wally Mounster directly as of 19 March 2012, and expects to find out the status of the design from Wally's perspective before the end of the month.
