Yes. I have been contributing to varying open source software projects for over a decade. I do not believe in intellectual property, as thoughts and ideas cannot be reasonably controlled as physical goods without infringing on peoples inherent freedoms.

I think it is a tool, not necessarily a comprehensive solution. Most of world problems can be attributed to conflicting ideologies, philosophies and religions. GVCS is not going to resolve those. I think many people can benefit from GVCS but not most.

I read and post on the OSE forum. Other than that I have no contributions yet.
Yes, I've been doing some SketchUp work for GVCS machines and also editing the wiki. Attended the 2015 MicroTrac Workshop at OSE.

Yes, have been a True Fan for a while now.
Yes, had been a True Fan initially but later decided I would rather contribute my time instead of money.

Team Culturing Information

WHO are you?

  • Name

Lex Berezhny

  • Location (city, country)

Grafton, NH, USA

  • Contact Information (email, skype, phone)

mail: lex@berezhny.com

WHY are you motivated to support/develop this work?

  • Do you endorse open source culture?

Yes. I have been contributing to varying open source software projects for over a decade. I do not believe in intellectual property, as thoughts and ideas cannot be reasonably controlled like physical goods without infringing on peoples inherent freedoms.

  • Why are you interested in collaborating with us?

I'm interested in self-sufficiency and being able to fix my tools.

  • How do you think that the GVCS can address pressing world issues?

I think it is a tool, not necessarily a comprehensive solution. Most of the world problems can be attributed to conflicting ideologies, philosophies and religions.

  • What should happen so that you become more involved with the project?

I'm a software developer by trade, specifically Python and web development. If GVCS had components written in Python or web based components then I could help there. In all other areas I'm more of a consumer (at least for now) until I start building my own GVCS and contributing back improvements.

  • What is missing in the project?

Appliances: Washing machine, clothes dryer, dish washer, cooking range/small oven, refrigerator, stand mixer.

Tools: drill, router, table saw, scroll saw, sawzall

  • What are your suggestions for improvement of the project?

More transparency as to what is going on at Factory e Farm. I love watching the videos that Marcin puts up on youtube. Would be nice to also have a Factory e Farm blog that is updated daily with summary of things that went on that day and what the plans are for tomorrow. Basically the equivalent of the Daily SCRUM Meeting.

WHAT are your skills?

  • List all of your skills in these areas: Communications - Organizational - Computer Support - Finances - Design - Natural Building - Electronics - Automation - Metallurgy - Engineering - Fabrication - Agriculture - Energy - Architecture - Video/Graphics/Art - PR/Marketing - Education - Construction - Industry - CNC - Chemistry - Product Design - Other

My main skill is Python programming.

Secondary would be wood working.

I have also taken a MIG welding class.

  • How have you already contributed to the project?

Yes, I've been doing some SketchUp work for GVCS machines and also editing the wiki. Attended the 2015 MicroTrac Workshop at OSE.

HOW can you help?

  • How are you interested in contributing to the work of GVCS development?

My main skill is Python programming so that is what I'm most capable and willing to assist with if there is such a need.

I'd be interested in working on web based collaboration software, project management, CAD design software, CAD repository and version control. Automation and control software.

  • Can you volunteer to work with us, and if so, how many hours per week?

Maybe 4-8 hours a week of programming time.

  • Are you interested in working with us for pay? If so, what services can you offer, and what is your hourly or per-project rate?

I would do Python programming for pay. I would rather discuss hourly rates in private, the rate would also depend on how much work there is and what the project is.

Possibly.

  • Are you interested in purchasing equipment from us to help bootstrap development?

Not sure yet. I'm in need of something like a backhoe and so far it seems like this particular machine is way off in the future.

Yes, had been a True Fan initially but later decided I would rather contribute my time instead of money.

  • Would you like to see yourself working with us on a full-time basis?

It's a possibility.
