My career began in 1974 as a machinist, making precision parts for urethane foam insulation spray equipment. After the company was no longer in business, I worked as a toolmaker at a custom machinery builder for five years, making precision parts, tools, fixtures and machinery. In 1979 I began working as a mold maker, building plastic injection molds for many years. When computers first came on the scene, I wrote programs to generate CNC code. After software became available to automate that process, I began designing the molds using various CAD programs. As of 2016 I am still designing molds on a CAD system, in addition to being a product designer for injection molded plastic parts.
