Basics
- A type of rotory engine
- Designed by Michigan State University and Warsaw Institute of Technology
- Has an outer casing and an internal blade on a spindle. The blade has curved fins on it, thus resembling ssome laptop cooling fans
- It creates and uses supersonic shock waves to compress and ignite fuel, which then pushes the blades sustaining the motion
- Lighter and more efficient than piston engines
