DB Connectors
- Tech drawing - [1]
- Solderless - screw terminals - [2]
- With ribbon - [3]
- Sockets for ribbon cable - [4]
- Attaching ribbon - squeeze to pierce -
- Ribbon cable current rating - [5]
JST Connectors
- Another wide range of IDCs - https://www.jst.co.uk/products.php?cat=31
IDC Connectors
- =Insulation Displacement Connectors
- Example connector for IDC cable - Male - [6], Female - [7]
- Uxcell - female 10 pin - [8]
- Male 2x8 - [9]
Ribbon Cable
- 22 ga ribbon cable does exist - [10]. Sourcing - [11]. Spec sheet implies that no insulation displacement connectors are used - [12]
MTA Connectors
- It appears that female connectors only are available, not male. For Male, headers are used. Limits use for making plugs.
- Crimp vs IDC connectors
- 101 seconds to crimp with tool per pin, including wire stripping and inserting into housing (10 minutes for a 6 plug)
- Second video says you can only use solid wire for this
- This one says use stranded wire - [13]
Multiple wires at the same time - uses wires spaced out on a ribbon
- Another MTA - An IDC type - [14]
