Basics
- Also known as "Ultimate Tensile Strength" , or "Ultimate Strength" , or the symbol "Ftu" in equations
- The Ability of a Material or Structure to Withstand Elongating Loads (ie stretching)
- Most materials with high tensile strength have little Compressive Strength and vice versa
- This is a core aspect of Concrete Reinforcement
