Basics
- A common type of bird
- Domestic ducks are also available
- Can supply eggs or meat, but the best application is pest control
- They are effective in contolling slugs and snails especially, and don't scratch like chickens do.
- They are also easy to herd
- For small gardens even 4 can suffice
- May not be needed to be purchased, just encourage local groups to approaach propert (SOME feeding) and help maintain the group (Protection from wildlife via safe nesting ground and possibly a large fence area)
- Is a risk of avian transmitted diseases, which needs further investigation.
