Hot Swapping

Basics

• The adding/removing of componets without turning off the system
• In electronics is often used for storage devices such as Sata drives in a NAS/Server
• In other systems can be batteries (dual, and one can be swapped out with the other in etc), filters, etc
• Useful for applications where the system can't be shut off (Medical Gear, Communications Gear, the "Neccisary" stuff)
