Open Source PDL to GCode Conversion Software

Basics

• Some sort of software/software-plugin (for libre office / inkscape etc) /firmware that takes a "sent" PDL file and converts it to a bitmap, raster scan, or vector graphic
• Turns a more complex process into something as simple as hitting print
• Does one exist, if not how hard is it to throw one together?
