Basics

• Around May 2020, a Video was Spread about a Conspiracy Theory that COVID-19 was lab created? (still unsure on full claim), and that various drugs already existed to treat it, but were being stopped by corruption
• Hash tag plandemic: why do people believe the incredible?

This is all PSUEDOSCIENCE AND ANTI-VACCINATION CONSPIRACY THEORIES, and thus can be ignored and looked at to reflect on why we think this way in times of crisis.

  • various forms of "bad" journalism:
    • Not asking questions with any real substance/not asking any "hard hitting" questions/baited questions etc

On the People in the Video and Their Credability

• Supposedly the first study the person did wasn't replicateable (ie they never really did credible work)
• They stated "coronavirus is actually secretly caused by a bad strain of flu shot that was circulating between 2013 and 2015. Masks will help “activate” the virus and reinfect a mask-wearer over and over, she claimed." need to get source of quote
• said bill gates is BAD for public health? (i hate millionaires etc, but almost wiping out Guinea worm is bad?) -paraphrasig

Also in the video the "interviewer" didn't ask very good questions many were baited, or just throwing a bone to her, ie Bad Journalism at best, enabling dangerous falsehood at worst

• They also never asked for proof, never asked other people to see what they thought even. Not that there is always some "both sides" arguement, but questioning ONLY the accused won't solve the mystery, because people can lie (radical concept, that THEY are trying to point out?)
• Reccomending not wearing masks, which especially with such an airborne virus is the exact opposite of what should be done (btw most masks aren't to protect the user from others, but to catch and reduce the infected individual's coughs, sneezes etc, akin to covering your mouth with an elbow)

On Hydroxychloroquine being a "game changer" / "cure"

• hydroxycloroquine can cause heart issues, so much so that it often requires monitoring and doctor approval i think, will dig for more info
• also people panic-buying it made it unavailable for people with lupis etc
• and the study that showed hope Threw out the people that got sick from the data set
• Still needs more research, but so far all other (double check this) replications prove it to do nothing, or cause more harm (side effects like the aformentioned cardiac issues (needs to be backed up)
• A person in that video also said:

"hydroxycloroquine and zinc" are working GREAT for patients, and then asked "will there be a double blind of YOUR VACCEINE" -paraphrasing

• Link on horrid diseases we had to deal with, and many have never heard of due to vaccine's effectiveness -this is the main reason these thoughts can happen, we know the bads of now, but not what the vaccienes do. If you don't know any babies dying from wouping cough, why make your baby cry with a shot? understandable, but dangerous
