Minimum acceptable pull force is 5 lb. Tighten extruder spring if this is not the case. Make sure 33 mm long spring is used. Motor skipping indicates limit. If motor skips before 5 lb, verify that motor current is sufficient. Sometimes filament slipping is a limit, in which case the extruder spring force must be improved. Slight optimization needed there to add 1-2 mm of spring tension by making extruder spring mounting holes more shallow, or design them differently so spring is easier to remove.
