From Nichrome Calculator
1000F (538C) max, 9' for ga 31 at 120V:
1000F (538C) max, 7' for ga 34 at 120V:
32 Ga Kanthal
- Nichrome sez - 165 w from 8.5 feet.
- Nichrome rho - 100 - 150 x 10-8
- kANTHAL - 13.1 oHM/FT - [1]
- Nichrome 60 - 10.55 ohm/ft - [2]
- Power = IV = I2R = V2/R
- Try 8' of Kanthal, should get about 120W at 120V. V=IR - I=~1A. Works. 8 feet used, wrapped around 2' of inner sleeve, used fence wire + wrap. 140 weight carbon fiber blanket for insulating base. Top is much hotter than base.
31 Ga Nichrome
- Use 9' to get 1000F at 120C for 180W
